BJP Rejects Congress Demand for JPC Probe into Hindenburg's Allegations
Congress Accused of Attempting to Crash Stock Market
Former Union Minister Alleges Economic Anarchy and Hatred Against India
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday rejected the Congress's demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the allegations made by Hindenburg Research. The BJP alleged that the Congress wants the Indian stock market to crash and is involved in creating economic anarchy and hatred against India.
Addressing a press conference, former Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "After being rebuffed by the people of India, the Congress party, its allies, and the toolkit gang have conspired together to usher in economic anarchy and instability in India." Prasad also alleged that the Congress is "anti-India" and is "trying to damage the country's economy."
The BJP's rejection of the Congress's demand for a JPC probe comes amid a major sell-off in the Indian stock market, which has lost over $100 billion in the last few days. The sell-off was triggered by a report by Hindenburg Research, which alleged that the Adani Group, a conglomerate founded by billionaire Gautam Adani, has engaged in accounting fraud and stock manipulation.
The Congress has called for a JPC probe to investigate the allegations against the Adani Group. However, the BJP has rejected this demand, saying that the allegations are baseless and that the JPC is a tool for political witch-hunts. The BJP has also accused the Congress of being unable to accept the fact that the Adani Group is a successful Indian company.
The ongoing political battle between the BJP and the Congress is likely to continue in the coming days. The Congress is likely to continue to press for a JPC probe, while the BJP is likely to continue to reject this demand and accuse the Congress of trying to damage the Indian economy.
