The UEFA Champions League semi-finals commence this week as Manchester City welcome Real Madrid to the Etihad Stadium in the first leg on Tuesday 26 April. Pep Guardiola's men have reached this stage of the competition for the third season running and they will be looking to go one better than last year when they reached the final but lost to Chelsea. Real Madrid have also reached the semi-finals on three occasions in that period and lifted the trophy in 2018 and 2017.
The two sides met twice in the group stage earlier in this season's Champions League, with Real Madrid winning 2-1 at the Bernabeu Stadium in September before City secured revenge with a 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium in November. Team News Manuel Pellegrini has no fresh injury concerns for the game, but he is without a number of key players.
Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Kyle Walker are all out with long-term injuries. John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are also doubts for the game. Ferland Mendy is suspended for Real Madrid, while Toni Kroos and David Alaba are major doubts.
